My name is Ralph, Coach D. or Mr. D. My first motorcycle ride was sometime in the late '40s on my Uncle's Indian. In the early '60s I gained interest in having one for myself. I had a couple of junkers and then in 1966 I bought an X6 Hustler and the curse of more HP started.
I taught Motorcycle Mechanics and Small Gas Engines in a high school from '84-'05. Raced AMA/CCS EBC Endurance series from '85 to '95 and then sprint raced until 2012.
At the end of the 1991 AMA 600 Supersport season my built Yamaha FZR 600 we finished 6th overall for the year as a true privateer.
The bikes shown are a mere sprinkle of those that have lived at my house. won a +55-class MX championship in 2014 at 68. Owned Somethin' Extra Cycles from 1995 till I retired and sold the building in November 2018. Started in Altamonte Springs and in 2005 moved to Knoxville, Tn.

An X6 Hustler starting the more-HP curse is exactly how it goes lol. My uncle had a shop growing up and I remember him cussing at a Kawasaki triple that never idled right. That FZR 600 finishing 6th as a privateer is wild to me all that engine building and no factory backing behind it.
