Need help finding pinch bolt for my GSX-R 1000 K5

After replacing my rotors on my 2005 GSX-R 1000, one of my front axle pinch bolts got chewed up. Picked up a replacement, but the head was wrong, and now I'm stuck. What's the actual part number for these bolts?

I wasn't sure where to post this since I couldn't find the exact forum topic that fits. Hoping someone has the answer before I order the wrong one again.

Yep, the front axle pinch bolt for your '05 GSX-R1000 is 51166-35F00. You can go with the original part or pick up a good titanium one if you want an upgrade. I've dealt with this before, and those heads can be a bit tricky

@StreetSurgeon Man, you are a total lifesaver. Thank you so much for that part number. I had a feeling it was something specific, and I was just chasing my tail, looking at generic parts. I appreciate the tip on the titanium ones, too. I'll probably stick with the original for now just to get the bike back on the road.

@Bobby2 Tbh I'm not even sure of the brand. It was just a generic bolt from a local auto parts store that I thought would do the trick since the threading matched up. I learned my lesson that the head design on these bikes is a whole different ballgame, and you can't just cut corners.

They're M10 bolts with the proper flange head for that fork setup. Check the thread pitch just to be sure, but that part number should get you the correct fit.

I had a similar mistake years ago with an old CBR. I thought I could get away with using a bolt from a hardware store. After a shaky test ride, I found myself scrambling to track down the right OEM part. Definitely learned that lesson the hard way

When I was helping a friend fix up his '04 GSX-R, we ran into the same problem, we messed up a pinch bolt and thought a cheap replacement from the hardware store would work. It didn't. I nearly stripped the fork leg while trying to tighten it down. Since then, we've only used OEM parts,those Suzuki parts fiches we found online have saved us more than a few times.

@Gixxaholic your story about nearly stripping the fork leg is exactly the situation I was hoping to avoid. After my last post I did find 1 of those online Suzuki parts diagrams and was able to confirm the correct part number. I have the proper OEM bolt on the way now and will not make that error again.
