Steering damper issue

Hey everyone, I just picked up a 2007 GSXR 1000 and suddenly got an SD code. I put it in dealer mode and it pointed to a steering damper issue, I'm not sure if it's a fuse, wiring, or the damper itself. Should I replace it? Can I use a K6 damper? What's the best aftermarket option if I go that route?

It seems like the ECU is just testing the resistance on the damper solenoid. The issue might be with the wiring or the solenoid itself. I've actualy unplugged mine in the past and didn't get any warning light. You could try disconnectin it and see if the problem goes away, if it does, there's a good chance it's the damper that's faulty

That makes sense, I'll try unplugging it and see if the code clears. If it's just the solenoid, I might swap it out or go aftermarket if it's toast
